gross au

[Once upon a time, perhaps, a man named Giliath Osborne had been a good man, a kind father, a loving husband, a good soldier. That was a long, long time ago, long forgotten. These days, there was merely the Blood and Iron Chancellor. A man hellbent on a goal, ready to use everything to achieve it.

Currently, the latest tool from his little workshop was standing in his office facing him with a familiar face, but an unfamiliarly blank expression.

"Siegried" was the name of the doll in front of him, a creature with uses. Already, standing in front of Osborne was plenty of proof that this boy was only a shell that resembled a person, an empty vessel whose memories were sealed away.

He ran his fingertips over the boy's cheek, watching for any reaction, any flinch or concealed disgust. Nothing. Obedience. Perfect.

There was more he could test for this, and if that proved successful, this doll could be useful in very many ways indeed. His fingers lifted a lock of white hair, let it slide over his knuckles as he pulled his hand away.]

Siegfried, I want you to kneel.

[His instinct is to not hurt Crow but his instinct is also to survive, and he's... SO hungry.

It doesn't take any persuasion really, for him to step forward and shove Crow back against the wall, pressing his mouth to Crow's neck and letting his teeth sink in with needy hungery noises.]

[Reflex has Crow's hands braced against Rean's chest, but love keeps them from pushing him away. He doesn't like this, but it's a matter of survival for Rean and Crow's body is sturdy.

He leans his head back against the wall, baring his throat, staring up at the ceiling with flushed cheeks and a dazed expression. It really feels good. Given Crow's everything whether that makes it better is debatable but it does make it easier, physically, to withstand. It also makes his breath ragged, and one hand slips around to cling to Rean's back as each pull of blood sends a shiver down Crow's spine. The other he's threading through Rean's hair, soothing and encouraging as Crow gets dizzier and less resistant to the feeling, arching against Rean and making soft pleasured sounds even while his vision goes spotty.]

[He's not, you know, in his right mind, hasn't been for a while now, so any thought of like, moderation? not there. Not even a thought. He's hungry, he's starving actually, and Crow tastes so good and isn't pushing him away, is actually pressing against him encouragingly...

So he's going to greedily, hungrily press Crow against the wall and drink and drink, gulping down his blood and the pleasure of eating him with little moans of his own.]

Nn... Rean--

[His voice is wanting but also stressed, and very soft. Rean's taking too much and even though Crow's fairly sure he'll be fine it's still scary to feel the effects of blood loss. He's trying to hold tighter but actually his grip is starting to loosen.]

I... I can't...

[He can't breathe. He's not getting any oxygen and he's hyperventilating as his body tries to keep up. But he still doesn't push Rean away. He just hangs on until he can't -- til his hands fall and his eyes roll back and he goes limp, totally unconscious.]

[He's drink until Crow faints in his arms and then he'll be a very upset whiny dog and sit with him, staring at him in deep concern until he figures out he's alive and carries him to his loft again.

At least all the damage from throwing himself at the basement door and screaming is... Healing. Fast. He feels more alert and restless, too, but upset in a way he can't really explain, as he sits by Crow and watches his shallow breathing.]

[Crow's passed out for a long time, but at least at one point it shifts into a comfortable deep sleep. When he wakes up this time he doesn't jump, but that's because he's too groggy to, instead just blinking blearily up at Rean, and then lifting a hand to pet him.]

...Mornin'.

[Good dog is Upset.

Which is why he doesn't actually move back when Crow wakes up this time, instead moving forward to straddle and pin him.]

[Not as anticipated! That part does startle him, so now he's looking up at Rean all wide-eyed, confused and embarrassed by the pose.]

...You okay?

[He makes a grumpy reverb noise and pins Crow's wrists, which may not be great for Crow but on the other hand all he's doing is looking at him.]

[It's not fun. He would have liked this two years ago but it's making his stomach knot and his heart race now, in a bad way. He makes a token effort to free himself but he's not trying super hard and even if he did he's too worn to reach his usual strength. Besides, his wrists are bruised already so it kinda makes it worse to struggle.]

What are you doing?

[Obviously no answer but at least all Rean does is flop on top of Crow and make grumpy noises. Just. Large dog lays on top of the entire Crow.

Maybe if he keeps Crow squished Crow won't leave.]

[Ah. Well, as long as Rean will let him Crow will deal with this by cuddling him. For a few minutes anyway.]

You really are surprisingly cute...

[If he's a heavy enough cat will you stay home from work?!]

[He wishes! He would like to not go ever, but blackmail's quite the motivator so he does try to get up after a bit.]

I'd love to pet you all day, Rean, but I gotta get ready.

[Not moving. Nope. Growling a little though.]

Can you maybe not make me fight you every day? I've got enough to worry about.

[He sighs, pushing at Rean and trying to get out from under him.]

[He's difficult. Eventually Crow might be able to move him at which point he gets up and crates himself again, obviously upset.]

[Crow really doesn't like to make Rean so upset but, y'know, no choice. So he'll just be grateful that Rean's crating himself and not fighting Crow the whole way.

Still it's kinda weird to get clean and dressed and fed while Rean's hiding. But he does, and then off he goes. It's just gonna continue like this indefinitely, honestly. Crow going to work and coming home tired and sore and sometimes drugged up. He keeps encouraging Rean to bite him, even though he faints every time, and after awhile that's just the routine. Honestly he's started to look forward to the biting, because it feels great and when he passes out from blood loss he sleeps too hard to dream.

Meanwhile outside their little corner of misery the world is going to hell. But somewhere out there, their friends are fighting. They should join them but after a month or so Crow's too physically worn down to fight and too worn down emotionally to try. They've been under the radar long enough that they might be able to escape, but the truth is Crow's so fucked up now he'd rather hide forever than face potentially losing himself again. The more he gets hurt and the more drugs he takes the more afraid and scatterbrained he gets.]

[It's difficult because any time Rean seems almost like he's recovering himself Crow is... Just getting worse, which spikes Rean's madness right on into overdrive all the time.

And yet he still keeps biting Crow, because that's... All he can do to live.

One night though, he leaves. It's not like Crow locks him up in the evening, it's not like Crow even can when Rean drains him nightly.

Crow will wake up without being stared at, for the first time in over a month.]

[He's so used to waking up to Rean now that he's startled when he's not being stared at. He wakes up all at once, sitting up and crawling to the edge of the bed to look over the edge of the loft.]

--Rean?!

[He's not thinking about the trouble Rean could cause. He's worried about someone hurting him. About someone taking him away while Crow's too out of it to stop them.]

[Rean's not there. No answering growl, no even presence. He's straight up not home.]

[He's still a mess from yesterday but Crow's not taking the time to get ready for his day. Work is not on his mind. He's just gotta find Rean, so he's scrambling down the stairs despite still being woozy, pulling his shoes on, and taking off out the door.

He doesn't know where to look. If someone took Rean he could be anywhere. Without a direction he can't just run, so to start he's walking down their street, keeping an eye out for clues and calling Rean's name.]

Rean! Rean...!

[[Calling Rean's name does not... Magically make him appear, alas. No barking either, or, growling, nothing to lead Crow to his lost feral pet.

Except luck, because eventually Crow will turn down and alley towards his "job" and find Rean just. There.

He's not in great shape. His clothes are a mess of. Things. Tears and fluids, a lot of which are blood and some of which are definitely not. He's bruised and sitting on the ground at the end of a trail of blood that stretches towards a door and into the dark beyond it.

He also looks fucked up and high, but mostly, he looks like he committed a massacre.

Which is funny because he did.]

[This is... the opposite of what Crow wanted to find, but something close to what he was afraid he might. For a moment Crow just stands there taking it in, as his eyes go bigger and his face loses colour. But then he's breaking into a run, slipping on some kind of alleyway grossness and falling to his knees right near Rean. He has to drag himself the last couple of feet, but then he's right there, looking Rean over but afraid to touch, so his hands just hover, shaking.

He's so angry. He's furious enough to make his blood boil, but he's even more afraid. He's scared of what kind of bad memories this is giving Rean, but mostly he's scared of what's going to happen to them both now.]

Rean--

[His voice cracks, but he's refusing to cry. Just like he's been this whole time, he's trying not to show exactly how bad he feels -- even though it's obvious he's failed to hide it.]

Why-- I was protecting you!

[And he was trying so hard. So why did they take Rean... or why did Rean leave on his own? Either way, it's making all Crow's efforts useless and that's going to really, really mess with him once the adrenaline wears off.]

[Whatever the case it's not like Rean can tell Crow, but he can lean on him, even if Crow's too afraid to touch.

He's a very tired, fucked up monster, he's not hungry, at least, he won't be hungry for a while, in fact, he's very, very full. But he's. Tired. Or maybe that's the amount of drugs in him. Either way he's nuzzling Crow's shoulder so he seems to be fine...?]
